Today was supposed to be Kun’s happiest day. It was his birthday, a day that in the past had been filled with joy, treats, and affection from his family. Every year, they celebrated with a small party, a special cake, and extra cuddles. But this year was different. Instead of the excitement and warmth he was used to, Kun found himself sitting alone outside a house that no longer felt like home.
Kun’s parents had left early in the morning. He remembered the sadness in their eyes as they packed up the car, but he didn’t understand why they didn’t take him with them. His tail wagged eagerly at first, thinking they were going on a trip, but the door never opened for him. Hours passed, and soon it became clear: they weren’t coming back. Kun was abandoned.
The once joyful yard, where he had played and run freely, now felt empty. The toys he once cherished lay scattered, untouched. The silence around him was deafening, and the sun, which used to bring warmth to his heart, only made the loneliness feel harsher. Kun’s eyes scanned the horizon, hoping that any moment, his parents would return, scoop him up, and apologize for the mistake. But the day passed without a single familiar face.
His heart ached, and his once wagging tail drooped low. Kun couldn’t understand why he had been left behind. All he ever wanted was to make his family happy, to be there for them with his unconditional love. But now, on what should have been his special day, he felt forgotten and discarded.
As night fell, the darkness only deepened Kun’s sorrow. He curled up on the porch, the cold creeping into his bones. For the first time on his birthday, there was no celebration. No cake. No love. Only silence and the empty feeling of being left behind.
Kun’s birthday was supposed to be a day of joy, but instead, it became the saddest day of his life. All he could do now was wait, hoping that one day, someone would come and show him the love and care he so desperately longed for.
