When Rachel first adopted her dog, Daisy, it was just the two of them against the world — until Phil came into their lives.
“Daisy usually warms up to people quickly,” Rachel shared with The Dodo. “But about six months after Phil moved in, I noticed Daisy was becoming more attached to him than to me. If we come home at the same time, she almost always greets him first!”
Rachel had always hoped to find someone who would love Daisy as much as she did, and with Phil, that hope became a reality. When Phil proposed, Rachel eagerly said yes — and then he did something that made her love him even more.
Months earlier, Rachel had casually mentioned that she’d love for Daisy to have her own ring when they got engaged — and she had no idea how attentively Phil had taken note of that wish.
“I had no clue he’d gone out of his way to find a tiny toy ring in a perfectly fitting toy ring box, but I wasn’t surprised that he followed through,” Rachel shared. “My soulmate would understand just how much my soul dog means to me, and that including her in our special moment would make it even more meaningful.”
When Phil proposed to Daisy, she was just as thrilled as her mom and eagerly accepted her ring, which was as much of a “yes” as you could get.
“She was visibly excited and tried her best to wait patiently for her ring,” Rachel said. “I think many girls can relate to that feeling during their own proposals!”
Now, both Daisy and Rachel are overjoyed to welcome Phil into their family, and it’s clear they both made a great choice.
