Hero the dog and his owner were homeless, and while his owner cared deeply for him, he worried he couldn’t provide adequate care. Consequently, he decided to surrender Hero to a California rescue organization. Pets often get transported to British Columbia due to high demand, and Hero was one of the fortunate ones selected to find a forever home.
Sarah and her husband, who are involved in helping the homeless, were surprised when they learned about Hero. From the moment Sarah met him, she felt a deep connection and desire for the dog, though she kept her feelings discreet around her husband to avoid influencing his decision. However, as soon as Sarah expressed her love for Hero, her husband admitted he felt the same way.
Hero was ready to move into his new forever home with the right family. Despite his strength and resilience, Sarah affectionately calls him a “velvety bag of rocks” because of his soft, foldable skin. Hero is truly a remarkable dog, and his new family adores him.
Hero is not fond of physical activities; he prefers a walk followed by a quick return home. Sarah believes this preference stems from his previous life on the streets. Hero has developed a strong attachment to his owners and seeks comfort by lying on the bath mat in the bathroom when he feels scared or unwell. One day, when Sarah came home in pain, Hero instinctively moved the bath mat closer to her to offer comfort. It was a touching gesture.
