Introducing Boji, the adventurous street dog who travels across Turkey by boat, train, and bus

Boji, a street dog from Istanbul, became a familiar sight on the city’s public transportation system, riding a subway train on October 21, 2021. Boji is a regular commuter, often covering up to 30 kilometers a day by using Istanbul’s subway trains, ferries, buses, and historic trams. After noticing his frequent travels, Istanbul Municipality officials started tracking his journeys using a microchip and a phone app. On most days, Boji passes through at least 29 metro stations and takes at least two ferry rides. He has learned where and how to board and disembark from the trains and ferries. As more people recognized him on their daily commutes and thanks to the tracking app, Boji has become an internet sensation.
