In the early morning hours of July 24, before the sun had even risen, volunteers and staff from Louisiana shelters gathered on the tarmac to load dozens of shelter pets onto their Flight to Freedom.
Many of these pets had been overlooked for months and were eager to find their forever homes. Seventy-two dogs and cats boarded the flight, and by the afternoon, they were touching down in the Pacific Northwest. The NOAH Center, one of several receiving shelters, awaited their arrival and took eleven dogs back with them.
On Facebook, they shared, “After a long trip, these pups arrived full of happiness and hope, knowing their forever homes are just around the corner. We’ve got some real cuties here! If you spot a pup that steals your heart, don’t wait! Check our website for availability and hurry down to meet them. Let’s make sure they find the loving families they deserve!” Sweet Graham is already winning hearts at Oregon Humane Society while he waits for a loving home. Learn more about how to adopt him here and check out his other feline friends who are also ready for the next chapter in their lives to begin. Sunset is settling in at Seattle Humane and already making new friends. Find out more about her here. All of these pets send their thanks for flying them to freedom. Soon, they will all find loving homes.
Thank you so much for your continued support of our monthly Flight to Freedom. Animal shelters are overcrowded, especially in southern states, and need help finding homes for highly adoptable pets.
Help us save more lives by donating towards August’s flight. Just $5 helps cover the fuel costs of flying a pet 125 miles towards safety.
