Dog cowers in fear after being abandoned three times by someone who had promised him love

When a shelter puppy is adopted, it often feels like their life is about to have a happy ending, with the promise of all the love they deserve after being rescued from cages and the streets.

Sadly, this isn’t always the reality, as some animals face repeated abandonment throughout their lives.

Finn’s public journey began in 2014 when he was rescued from the streets and brought to a Dallas shelter in the United States. There, he received the rehabilitation he needed and was soon ready to find a loving home. Thanks to his status as a puppy and his undeniable charm, he quickly captured the hearts of numerous potential adopters.

Several families were interested in adopting Finn, but only one was successful. After completing all the adoption paperwork, Finn left for his new home with hopes of a happy life. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned, and the reason for his return to the shelter in 2019—five years after being adopted—remains unclear.

In a turn of events, Finn found himself homeless once again. However, the individuals who initially rescued him took it upon themselves to find him a new, loving home. Everything seemed to be falling into place, and Finn was given another chance to find happiness.

Although Finn’s suffering had not eased, he once again felt abandoned. This time, the situation was even more distressing, as the puppy was discovered confined in a small box. It was reported that Finn had been left in a park with his belongings after years of being cared for by his family.

CAMO Rescue has shared Finn’s story to both raise awareness about his plight and to help find him a new home.

This loyal companion certainly did not deserve such disregard.

On April 4, they shared on Facebook that “In 2021, he ended up at the Denton Animal Shelter after being abandoned in his box with all his belongings at a park.” They added, “Microchips don’t lie, and you can’t escape from responsibility!”

After enduring years of human neglect, the dog now displays clear signs of fear, with his body language revealing deep mistrust and anxiety. While the reasons behind Finn’s previous families’ actions remain unclear, nothing can excuse the suffering they inflicted upon him.

His rescuers are determined to find him a loving and permanent home.

To ensure Finn finds a permanent and loving home, CAMO Rescue, Denton Animal Shelter, and Dallas Animal Shelter are now collaborating on the matter.

If you wish to meet Finn, you can arrange a visit through the shelter’s website. However, it’s important to note that potential adopters will undergo a rigorous screening process due to his past.

Finn deserves to be adopted by a truly caring family, so he can finally share his story and advocate for himself.
