A month ago, volunteers received an urgent call about a troubling sight. They were informed of a dog lying by the roadside in a state that would shock anyone. The poor animal was scruffy, had a large tumor on its chest, and was constantly drooling. Despite these dire conditions, the dog approached with a surprising touch of charm.
The volunteers acted swiftly to help. Although the dog’s past was undoubtedly harsh, it had managed to endure until now. They hurriedly transported it to the hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Despite its pain, the courageous dog, now named Xiao Fu, wagged its tail. The medical examination revealed significant bone deterioration due to the tumor. The situation was severe, and the doctor indicated that treatment might not be feasible.
Undeterred, the volunteers sought further opinions and brought Xiao Fu to several hospitals. Eventually, they found one willing to attempt treatment. Xiao Fu’s bright eyes mirrored its strong will to live, and its condition gradually improved with each passing day.
Xiao Fu’s journey was fraught with challenges. The dog underwent a blood transfusion and extensive tests. Despite moments of doubt and discouragement, the volunteers remained resolute, driven by their belief in Xiao Fu’s resilience and determination.
The CT scan revealed grim news: the tumor had metastasized to Xiao Fu’s brain, affecting crucial nerves and bones. Although surgery was not feasible, the volunteers remained determined. They learned that Xiao Fu had vascular fibroma, a cancer that could be managed with medication.
Xiao Fu’s treatment persisted, and after two months, it had gained weight and was receiving the necessary care. While its future remained uncertain, the love and support it received allowed Xiao Fu to enjoy each day with a sense of peace, enveloped in warmth and commitment.
