Ruggles the Shih-Tzu, a gentle and affectionate dog, was relocated to a new environment where he could start anew. There, he met Chompers, a kitten recently rescued from a difficult situation, who would become his first friend. Chompers had been found alone under a porch at just two days old. The following video captures their first meeting.
Both Ruggles and Chompers faced tough starts in life, but their adoption by loving individuals has brought them happiness and health. Ruggles gained recognition when he was chosen as the spokesperson for the Cherokee County Animal Shelter. He now visits classrooms to educate children about shelter animals and the issues surrounding puppy mills.
If you’re curious about why they weren’t adopted together, it’s because Chompers (who lived up to her name!) was rough with young Ruggles. Due to Ruggles’ health issues, it was decided that separating them would be best for both animals. Thankfully, they each have found love and happiness in their new homes.
