How many charming animal romances have we seen? Likely many. The numerous heartwarming interspecies interactions online challenge the idea that empathy and inclusion are solely human qualities.
Animals, like individuals of other species, can form lasting friendships. When they do, they are truly captivating. Many of these remarkable animal bonds may even have happened right in our own homes.
Rudy and Barclay, two golden retrievers, share an unbreakable bond as best friends. It’s delightful to witness the dog and duck spending so much time together, despite their unusual relationship being largely driven by their mutual love for food. One of Pam Ishiguro’s seven ducks in Orange County is named Rudy. She mentioned that Barclay was not thrilled when she first introduced the flock of ducks.
Initially, the dog showed no interest in the ducks, but he quickly realized that befriending them meant a constant source of food. According to the ducks’ owner, Barclay loves to eat the same food that the ducks enjoy.
Regardless of how they came together, the dog and duck are deeply in love. Although Rudy, being the more dominant of the two, often takes charge and directs the more submissive Barclay, Ishiguro noticed that Rudy and Barclay have a strong bond.
Ishiguro described their relationship as a love-hate dynamic. When they are together, they are always jumping over or chasing each other, but when they are separated, they continuously call out to one another. It seems like sibling behavior. Watch the video below to see for yourself.
