My brother and I have always been inseparable. We grew up together, playing in the fields and curling up in the warmth of our little corner at home. But now, things are different. I don’t remember exactly when it all started, but one day, we found ourselves alone, cold, and hungry. The food we once knew, the love we once felt, all disappeared. The humans who had once cared for us were no longer around, and no one had given us a second glance.
Days turned into weeks, and the world around us felt more distant. My brother and I huddled together, clinging to each other for warmth and comfort, our stomachs aching from hunger. The days grew longer, and with each passing hour, we became weaker. We searched for food wherever we could, but it was never enough. Sometimes we would hear voices, the sound of people nearby, but when we tried to get their attention, they simply walked away. Our cries went unheard, and with each unspoken plea, we grew more desperate.
I remember one particular day when the hunger felt unbearable. My brother was too weak to stand, and I couldn’t help but feel the weight of our shared pain. We lay there, side by side, with only the faint hope that someone would notice us, someone would see the bond we shared and the suffering we were enduring. But the hours passed, and the silence was deafening.
We had nothing left but each other. And even though our bodies were frail and our energy was nearly gone, I could still feel the love between us. The only thing we wanted, the only thing that mattered, was to find someone who would help us.
Please, I’m begging you. We’re still here. We’re still waiting. My brother and I have been starved for days, our hearts full of hope, yet weighed down by hunger and pain. If you can hear me, please, come and help us. We need love, we need care, we need a forever home where we can feel safe again.
I know we might not be perfect, and our bones are no longer as strong as they once were, but we have so much love to give. We’re not asking for much, just a chance to start over, a chance to be loved again.
Please, help us. Don’t let us continue to suffer in silence. Let us show you how much we have to offer, how grateful we will be to find a place where we can feel like we belong.
With all the love in our hearts,
The two of us.
