Narwhal – the dog that caused a stir on social media

Narwhal, a puppy, drew the attention of staff at Mac’s Missions animal care organization after being discovered with an injured leg and a small tail located between his adorable eyes. However, veterinarian Brian Heuring at Cape Small Animal Clinic determined there was no need to remove the “unicorn tail” on Narwhal’s forehead. Thousands of people praised the puppy’s charm on Mac’s Mission’s Facebook page.

Despite being born with a small extra tail on his forehead, Narwhal is just like any other puppy, full of energy and love. He’s healthy, playful, and adores being cuddled and kissed. Rochelle Steffen, the founder of Mac’s Mission, shared that the staff was thrilled when they first saw “that tail.” The organization, which focuses on rescuing dogs that have suffered from abuse, trauma, or congenital issues, was excited to welcome Narwhal.

On November 13, a photo of Narwhal posted by the rescue service on Facebook garnered over 8,000 likes, along with a flood of support from dog lovers. One fan expressed happiness in seeing the puppy receiving the care and affection he deserves.

Some concerned individuals have raised questions about Narwhal’s unique forehead tail, wondering if it functions like a regular tail. The answer is no—it doesn’t work the same way. One person humorously commented that if the tail could wag, it would surely break the Internet. Despite the overwhelming attention and support from the community, Narwhal has yet to find a forever home. Mac’s Mission rescue service has decided to care for Narwhal until he grows up, making sure that the tail on his forehead doesn’t interfere with his vision as he matures.
