Today is my 12th birthday, but no one has sent me any birthday wishes

Today was Hoshi’s 12th birthday, but it wasn’t like the special day he had hoped for. There were no balloons, no party hats, and most of all, no birthday wishes. Hoshi, a gentle and loyal dog with graying fur and kind eyes, sat quietly in his corner, waiting for someone to acknowledge his big day. His heart felt heavy as the hours passed, and not a single person came to celebrate with him.

As the day turned into night, Hoshi curled up in his bed, staring out the window. He had been a faithful companion for so many years, and now, at 12 years old, it seemed that everyone had forgotten about him. His once lively tail now lay still, and his bright eyes were dim with sadness.

But even though no one had sent him birthday wishes, Hoshi held onto the hope that tomorrow might be different. Deep down, he knew that his value wasn’t measured by how many people remembered his birthday, but by the love and loyalty he had always given. Today might have been a lonely birthday, but Hoshi’s heart remained full of hope and kindness.
