Today is my birthday, but surely no one will send me any wishes because I am a stray dog

Today is my birthday, but surely no one will send me any wishes because I am a stray dog. My name is Rick, and I roam the city streets alone, without a family or home to call my own. Despite this, I can’t help but feel a glimmer of hope that today might be different. Maybe, just maybe, someone will notice me and give me a kind word or even a smile.

I walk through the park where families gather, children play, and other dogs happily wag their tails beside their owners. I see the love they receive, the laughter, and the joy. It’s something I can only imagine. The world feels big, and I am just a small, forgotten part of it. Yet, I don’t give up hope. Perhaps one day, someone will look into my eyes and see that I deserve a home, too.

For now, though, I’ll find a quiet spot under a tree, away from the noise and bustle. The day will pass like any other, but deep down, I still wish for a birthday miracle. Maybe next year, I won’t be so alone. Happy birthday, Rick—may this be the last one you spend without a family.
