Today, while walking down a deserted street, I came across a mother dog standing by the roadside, anxiously watching the passing vehicles. Fear was evident in her eyes as she sought help. I was taken aback when I first saw her; she implored me to look inside my car, where her puppies were huddled in filth.
The puppies had been born recently, and with heavy rain expected soon, they were at great risk if not rescued from the harsh conditions immediately. It took over an hour to get her and her family to the shelter.
The three adorable puppies were sleeping soundly, and thankfully, both the mother dog and her puppies were unharmed. She had recently adopted two additional puppies, but sadly, they had passed away. I named her Maria. Maria is an incredibly sweet and affectionate dog who provides excellent care for her two adopted and three biological puppies.
Twenty-five days later, the puppies have grown and are now two months old, ready for their vaccinations. Their names are Rafael, Donatello, and Leonardo. They are gentle and enjoy playing, basking in the sun, and eating.
We are deeply grateful to Danu Colombo MDP for saving us!
