Hello from Tipsy! Abandoned at birth, Tipsy was discovered by a rescue team member, faint and helpless on the ground, as reported by PowShow. Thanks to their dedication and care, Tipsy has thrived. By the age of two weeks, she began walking, though her congenital spinal malformation was not yet apparent. Despite being a bit early for weaning, she eagerly anticipated solid food.

However, as she grew, she began to struggle with mobility. She started dragging her back legs, although they still had some sensation. This was when we realized the severity of her condition. We began physical therapy and passive range-of-motion exercises before scheduling a visit with a neurologist.

Radiographs revealed a spinal fracture or luxation, with significant loss of vertebral bodies and bone density in the T-spine area. Despite the lack of trauma or pain, it became clear that this was a congenital issue.

With consistent physical therapy, Tipsy made remarkable progress. Her foster family was amazed by her resilience and determination. At just seven weeks old, she could walk and run a bit. After her first acupuncture session, she rested peacefully for several hours.

By nine weeks, Tipsy was fitted with a wheelchair. Initially, she had difficulty using it due to her environmental responses, but with practice, she began to adapt. Now, at sixteen weeks, she joyfully plays with other dogs and navigates the field with her wheelchair. Despite her challenges, Tipsy remains the happiest dog, demonstrating boundless spirit and perseverance as she continues to grow and thrive.
