Mora was a small black chihuahua with bright, curious eyes that always seemed to be searching for his owner. His life was perfect—he had a cozy bed, delicious meals, and most importantly, the love and companionship of his owner, who adored him. They spent every day together, whether it was lounging on the couch, going for walks in the park, or simply enjoying each other’s company.
But one day, everything changed. Mora’s owner received news that they had to go on a business trip that would last for several months. The decision was difficult, but there was no choice. Mora couldn’t go along, and the best solution was to leave him in the care of a kind neighbor. The neighbor, an elderly woman named Mrs. Harper, had always been fond of Mora and promised to take good care of him.
Despite the reassurances, Mora didn’t understand why his owner had to leave. The day his owner packed up and walked out the door, Mora tried to follow, his little legs scrambling to keep up. But the door closed, leaving him on the other side. He scratched at it, whined, and even barked, but there was no response.
Mrs. Harper gently scooped him up, trying to soothe him with kind words and soft strokes, but Mora’s heart was breaking. He couldn’t understand why his beloved owner had left him behind. That night, he refused to sleep in the cozy bed Mrs. Harper had prepared for him. Instead, he sat by the door, waiting, hoping that his owner would return.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, but Mora’s routine never changed. Every morning, as soon as the sun rose, he would sit by the door, his little tail wagging hopefully every time he heard footsteps or the creak of a door opening. But each time, it wasn’t his owner. His eyes would droop in disappointment, and he would curl up next to the door, refusing to move far from it.
Mrs. Harper did everything she could to make Mora feel at home. She gave him treats, played with him, and even let him sleep in her bed, but nothing could fill the void left by his owner. Mora’s loyalty was unwavering, his love for his owner so deep that he couldn’t imagine life without them.
One day, after what felt like an eternity, the door finally opened, and there stood his owner, smiling down at him. For a moment, Mora couldn’t believe his eyes. But then, with a joyful bark, he leaped into his owner’s arms, his entire body shaking with excitement. All the waiting, the sadness, and the loneliness melted away in that instant. He was home, where he belonged.
From that day on, Mora never let his owner out of his sight. He followed them everywhere, his little paws pattering close behind. He had learned that even when they were apart, his owner would always return. And as long as they were together, Mora knew that everything would be just fine.
