Pit Bull Chained in Snow Cried for Help, and a Police Officer Gave Her a New Lease on Life

Admin

Dog owners know that it’s not the breed of the dog that matters, but rather how the dog is cared for, treated, and loved.

Pit bulls have been involved in numerous tragic incidents, but one officer is dedicated to changing that perception, challenging misconceptions one step at a time.

Officer Justin Bruzgul’s story: Bruzgul saved Kiah from a dire situation. He discovered her trapped in the snow, shivering and crying out for help.

He saw in her the same qualities he valued in himself: steadfast loyalty, intelligence, and a compassionate nature.

Recognizing Kiah’s potential to assist others, he decided to mentor and train her to become a K9 officer.

Kiah successfully passed the exam and became the first Pit Bull K9 officer in New York.

Kiah’s rescue and subsequent career highlight one key truth: Pit bulls are exceptional dogs!

Indeed, Kiah and Officer Bruzgul are dedicated to not only performing their duties but also raising awareness about the challenges faced by this breed.

Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes are among the most commonly found breeds in shelters. By increasing public understanding of their true potential and their unique qualities, we can help place hundreds, if not millions, of these pets into loving homes.

Furthermore, the K9 team has proven that Pit Bulls are highly capable of serving in various roles. Instead of spending approximately $20,000 for a police dog, districts could consider adopting from shelters, where many suitable dogs are already waiting.

Many dogs that are euthanized because of overcrowding are actually capable of rehabilitation. Isn’t that worth appreciating?
