In a heart-wrenching incident that has left the community in shock, a 14-year-old dog named Buddy was abandoned by his owner at a local shelter in anticipation of being euthanized. The disturbing event unfolded at the Riverside Animal Shelter, where Buddy’s owner, identified only as Mrs. Thompson, left the elderly dog with a note and a large bag of his belongings.
According to witnesses, Mrs. Thompson arrived at the shelter on Tuesday morning, visibly distressed but resolute. “She told us that Buddy was too old and sick to continue living,” said shelter volunteer Maria Sanchez. “She seemed very emotional, but she made it clear that she wanted Buddy to be put down.”
