During the summer, it is crucial to safeguard dogs from high temperatures. Ensure they always have fresh water available, keep them indoors during the peak heat hours, and offer a cool, shaded area for them to relax. Additionally, never leave dogs in a closed vehicle, even briefly, as the interior can reach perilously high temperatures. For instance, officers saved a litter of eight puppies left in a crate under the blazing sun. Without their intervention, the puppies would not have survived.
Eight Puppies Looking for a New Family
In Crowley, Texas, eight puppies were found abandoned in a field under the blazing sun, confined in a crate without any water. Dehydrated and in dire condition, they were spotted by a passerby who promptly alerted the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies Collin Stephenson and Haley Drew quickly arrived on the scene. The officers placed the puppies in the back of their car, providing them with water and a respite from the heat. The visibly distressed puppies started to recover once they were in a cooler environment.
After their rescue, the puppies were taken to the Chuck & Brenda Silcox Animal Care & Adoption Center, where volunteers provided them with care. Officers Stephenson and Drew visited the puppies soon after, with Drew, already the owner of a Golden Retriever and an Irish Wolfhound, expressing her happiness at seeing the puppies again. Deputy Stephenson has decided to adopt one of the puppies, while the other seven are still in search of homes.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of surveillance cameras in the area, the sheriff’s office has not been able to identify the person responsible for abandoning the puppies. The puppies, now named Cheese Itz, Cheetos, Lays Potato, Fritos, Pringles, Ruffles, and Doritos, are finally safe and ready to be adopted by loving families.
