It’s hard to imagine anyone abandoning a pet. The Animal Rescue League of Iowa is now caring for Shey, whose family left him behind when they moved.
After four long months at the shelter, a 14-year-old miniature poodle, though nearly toothless, partially blind, and deaf, hadn’t given up hope of finding a forever family.
Unlike others who might have overlooked Shey, Tristan, a young boy with a yearning for a cuddly companion, marched into the shelter with a clear request. Thankfully, the staff knew just the perfect fit: the sweet and affectionate Shey.
Learning that the dog required special care due to its health, Tristan carefully considered whether he could provide the necessary attention. Ultimately, realizing he was up to the challenge, Tristan decided to adopt Shey.
