Despite being deaf and facing a swarm of thousands of bees, this lucky dog pulled through thanks to swift intervention

Adding insult to injury, after the bee attack, his own family abandoned him at a shelter.

Rescuers brought the deaf Pit Bull to the shelter, his body ravaged by a life-threatening case of bee stings. Recognizing his ordeal, they gave him the name Stinger.

They had intended to euthanize the dog due to its severe condition, as they were unable to treat it.

Carri Shipaila’s LuvnPupz rescue in Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan, stepped in to assist at that moment. Upon learning about Stinger, she quickly drove a mile to retrieve him from the shelter.

Despite Stinger’s family declining to take him back, she immediately began efforts to save his life, treating him for stings, a subsequent skin infection, and sarcoptic mange.

Sadly, he was diagnosed with Pemphigus, an autoimmune condition that will require ongoing management.

Because of the expensive care required, he won’t be eligible for adoption, but he has found a caring forever home with a foster family and will receive ongoing care and therapy from LuvnPupz.

Stinger has made remarkable progress since being abandoned at the shelter. His once agonizing blisters have disappeared, and he now boasts a beautiful white coat.

He’s a delightful, happy dog, thoroughly enjoying his new life with a caring family!
