Owner Embarks on a 310-Mile Journey to Reclaim His Stolen Dog

A one-year-old Malinois Shepherd named Bandit was found 310 miles from his home and reunited with his family. Bandit had disappeared from his Côte-d’Or residence in France last June.

Farid, Bandit’s owner, was distressed and spent months searching for his beloved dog. Despite his efforts, he found no leads. However, eight months later, a kind stranger discovered Bandit by the roadside.

The puppy was taken when he was just 4 months old. Luckily, he had a microchip that enabled his owner to track him down once he was discovered 310 miles from home, despite being found without a collar.

The two best friends were overjoyed to reunite, and the meeting was smoothly arranged. Thanks to the incredible, life-saving work of the shelter, a caring stranger, and a microchip, Bandit and Farid can now enjoy their time together in peace.

As soon as Farid received the good news, he rushed to Bandit’s location.

He expressed, “I am incredibly thankful to everyone who contributed to his recovery, and I can’t emphasize enough the importance of microchipping your pets.” Without that microchip, reuniting with Bandit would not have been possible. The day Bandit came home was one of the happiest moments of my life.

Check out the heartfelt video of the reunited friends below. Farid shared it, expressing his joy at being reunited with his pet dog, despite the long journey they had both endured to be together again.
