Poor little dog was abandoned on his birthday

There is a small, brown puppy named Charlie. Charlie was a cheerful and loving dog who had always lived with his owner, a kind old man named Mr. Thompson. They shared countless happy days together—running in the fields, snuggling by the fire, and enjoying long walks in the park.

But as time went on, things began to change. Mr. Thompson grew older and weaker, and one day, he passed away. Charlie was heartbroken and confused, and soon after, he was given to a family who promised to take care of him. However, they were too busy with their lives to give him the love and attention he had known before.

Months turned into years, and the day of Charlie’s fourth birthday arrived. The little dog woke up early, wagging his tail with excitement, hoping for a special day filled with love and joy. But the house was eerily quiet. The family had gone out for the day, leaving Charlie alone in the yard. There was no cake, no toys, and no one to wish him a happy birthday.

Charlie sat by the gate, watching the empty street, his big, brown eyes filled with sadness. He thought of the days when Mr. Thompson would surprise him with a special treat and a gentle hug. But now, he was forgotten.

As the sun began to set, Charlie’s tiny heart ached with loneliness. Just as he was about to give up hope, a little boy named Ethan walked by the gate. Ethan noticed the sad puppy and stopped. His kind heart couldn’t bear to see Charlie so upset.

“Hey there, buddy,” Ethan said, kneeling down. “Why do you look so sad?”

Charlie whimpered softly and nuzzled Ethan’s hand. Seeing the puppy’s worn collar, Ethan realized the dog had been abandoned. Without hesitation, he ran back home and returned with a blanket, a bowl of food, and a small cupcake.

“Happy birthday, little guy!” Ethan said with a warm smile, placing the cupcake in front of Charlie.

For the first time that day, Charlie’s tail wagged. Ethan stayed with him until it was dark, petting him and singing happy birthday. When he finally had to leave, he promised, “I’ll come back for you tomorrow, and I’ll make sure you’re never lonely again.”

True to his word, Ethan convinced his parents to adopt Charlie. From that day on, the little dog found a new home filled with love and happiness. Though his fourth birthday had started in sadness, it ended with a promise of a brighter future—a life where he would never feel forgotten again.
