Hello there! My name is Buddy, and today is a super special day—it’s my birthday! I can hardly believe it. I woke up feeling extra happy and excited, wondering what surprises my humans, Ella and Tom, had in store for me. I couldn’t stop my tail from wagging as I thought about the fun that was coming.
As soon as I stretched and yawned, Ella knelt down beside me, rubbing my ears and whispering, “Happy Birthday, Buddy!” Her voice was full of love, and she looked as excited as I felt. She told me that we were going to my favorite spot at the beach, and my two best friends, Shadow and Daisy, would be joining us for a birthday celebration. I was so thrilled I could hardly contain myself.
After breakfast, we all hopped into the car and headed to the beach. When we arrived, I could see Shadow and Daisy waiting for me near the shore. Shadow is a sleek, black Labrador with a gentle heart, and Daisy is a bouncy Beagle who loves to sniff everything in sight. As soon as they spotted me, they ran over, barking joyfully and wagging their tails just as fast as mine.
Ella had brought a surprise—a big, dog-friendly birthday cake just for us! It was decorated with bits of bacon and peanut butter, two of my favorite things. Ella and Tom gathered around us and lit a candle on the cake. Then they sang “Happy Birthday” while I sat, feeling so special and loved. After the song, they blew out the candle (since, well, I don’t know how to do that), and then cut the cake into three perfect pieces—one for each of us.
The cake was absolutely delicious! Daisy and Shadow seemed to think so too because they finished their pieces in just a few bites. With full bellies and happy hearts, we all ran down to the water, splashing and playing in the waves. Shadow loves to swim, so he went further out while Daisy and I chased each other along the shore, barking with excitement.
At one point, Tom tossed a big, red ball across the sand, and the three of us raced after it. Daisy, being the fastest, grabbed it first and ran around in circles while Shadow and I tried to catch her. We laughed and played for hours, running and rolling in the sand, feeling the breeze on our fur.
As the sun started to set, I lay down on the warm sand, feeling completely happy and a little tired. Shadow and Daisy lay beside me, both looking content after such a wonderful day. Ella and Tom sat nearby, smiling at us and giving us gentle pats. At that moment, I felt like the luckiest dog in the world.
This birthday was everything I could have hoped for and more. Spending it with my two best friends made it unforgettable. I’m not sure what next year’s birthday will be like, but I know I’ll always remember today as one of the happiest days of my life.
